Introduction

Welcome to the website of the Market Place Seminar which UIC, the International Union of Railways, and FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, are jointly organising!

The Market Place Seminar is a platform which aims to create opportunities for increased cooperation and business development within the rail sector by offering a common platform for railway undertakings, freight forwarders and customers.
This year the seminar will be organised in Hamburg and will focus on Rail Hinterland – efficient connections to the world:

• Efficiency gains from industrializing combined transport “door-to-door”.
• New business designs for inland-terminals.
• Creating customer value with multimodal transport solutions.
• Infrastructure – from being a bottle neck to becoming an enabler of intermodal traffic.

HHLA, Hamburger Hafen and Logistics AG and DB Schenker are co-hosts of the Market Place Seminar. The conferences will take place on 27-28 October 2011 at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg (seminar venue)
